Randwick City Council is an innovative and progressive Council committed to serving our vibrant community on the eastern beaches of Sydney. Our Technical Services Team is seeking a landscape architect


Purpose:

To effectively, creatively and efficiently design and monitor construction of a diverse range of open space/public domain projects throughout the City of Randwick, and to prepare reports and other documentation concerning landscape/design matters.


About the role:

Creatively design landscape projects for the City of Randwick ranging in scale and complexity from playgrounds to urban plazas.
Prepare landscape plans from concept to documentation, including development of programs and cost estimates, utilising appropriate software such as AutoCAD, Microsoft Project and Excel.
Where required, undertake project management through conceptual, design, documentation, tendering and construction stages, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
Prepare accurate technical reports/correspondence and provide sound design and technical advice to other Council Officers, Councillors and to the general public.
Manage consultants and contractors as required, including the preparation of comprehensive briefs for consultants.
Prepare Quotation and Tender Packages and undertake evaluations in consultation with the Procurement team and in compliance with council’s Procurement Policy.

About you:

Degree in Landscape Architecture
Extensive knowledge and experience in site analysis, landscape design risk assessment, with proven ability to achieve high quality outcomes for the community.
Extensive knowledge in cost estimating and specification writing for landscape projects.
Knowledge and experience in the use of AutoCAD for the production of landscape documentation.
Good written and verbal communication techniques and an ability to deal effectively with other Council personnel and the public.
Effective interpersonal, negotiating, conflict resolution and problem solving skills.
Demonstrated experience in the use of Microsoft Word/Excel/Project (or equivalent), Adobe Suite, and advanced computer skills.
Extensive experience in the process and delivery of community consultation.
