Landscape Construction Labourer
Company: Buddies Yard Care Ltd
Location: Winnipeg, MB & surrounding areas
Position Type: Full-time seasonal (spring–fall, potential winter work available)
Compensation: $18–$25/hour starting wage (based on experience) + overtime and opportunities for rapid wage increases with strong performance
About the Role
Buddies Yard Care Ltd is looking for hardworking and motivated individuals to join our team as Landscape Construction Labourers. Our crews build high-quality outdoor spaces including patios, retaining walls, walkways, drainage systems, irrigation installations, grading projects, and large landscape plantings.
This is hands-on outdoor construction work where you will be part of a team building projects from the ground up. No prior landscaping experience is required for the right candidate—if you are reliable, physically capable, and eager to learn, we will train you.
Responsibilities
As a Landscape Construction Labourer, you will assist our construction crews with a variety of tasks, including:
Assisting with landscape construction projects such as patios, retaining walls, walkways, and planting installations
Digging, hauling, and moving materials including soil, gravel, pavers, and stone
Preparing and grading sites for landscape installations
Assisting with drainage systems and irrigation installations
Using construction tools and equipment safely (shovels, wheelbarrows, compactors, saws, etc.)
Maintaining a clean and safe job site
Supporting crew leaders to keep projects moving efficiently
As you gain experience, there may be opportunities to learn equipment operation such as skid steers or other machinery.
What We’re Looking For
Physically capable of demanding outdoor work (lifting 50+ lbs and working on your feet throughout the day)
Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
Positive attitude and ability to work well in a team environment
Willingness to learn new skills and take direction from crew leaders
Comfortable working outdoors in varying Manitoba weather conditions
Preferred (But Not Required)
Previous landscaping or construction experience
Valid Manitoba Class 5 Driver’s License
Experience using construction tools or equipment
Training is provided for motivated candidates who are eager to learn.
