Qualifications
At least 10 years of Latam & International Large Corporate or Large Middle Market credit risk underwriting experience within a corporate or commercial banking environment or similar
Analytical orientation, critical thinking skills, and autonomous decision-making ability
Strong communication and business writing skills both in English and Spanish
Intermediate/Strong level of credit risk skills, including the ability to work across complex structures and products
Intermediate understanding of legal documentation, term sheets, etc
Ability to create a strong network of relationships among peers, internal partners, external constituencies and decision makers to deliver end products
Capable of understanding policies, procedures, compliance and approval process at a Corporate Bank, including comprehension of US lending regulations
Undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting; MBA is a positive but is not required
Bilingual proficiency in Spanish & English is a must
(Portuguese is a positive but is not required)

With respect to this position in our New York Office, the expected base salary ranges from $160,000 to $225,000
Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained
In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus

The Corporate Credit Underwriter is responsible for all aspects of financial analysis and risk management for clients and prospects in the Corporate & Investment Banking unit
Senior Analyst is expected to learn and contribute internal execution and risk management process within CRM group
Manage credit related aspects of a portfolio of large, Latam & International corporate relationships within all industry sectors
Conduct in-depth financial due diligence of borrowers, industry research, financial forecasting, and understanding of term sheets and transaction structures
Intermediate understanding of transactional documents, including credit agreements, reimbursement agreements, ISDA documentation, etc
Coordinate with Credit Risk Officers, Relationship Managers and Product Specialist to ensure that proposed transactions terms are acceptable to the Bank and to set appropriate global credit limits for both new and existing clients
Conduct financial modeling (projections for term debt and transactions)
Oversight of the preparation of credit applications, in compliance with the Bank’s risk policy and procedure
Ensure appropriate processing of transaction-related requests, such as amendments and waivers to existing credit documentation
Management of ongoing credit monitoring as per internal policy, including periodic reviews of assigned portfolio

Overview:

Top European Bank with significant New York operations is looking for a Corporate Credit Underwriter. The Corporate Credit Underwriter is responsible for all aspects of financial analysis and risk management for clients and prospects in the Corporate & Investment Banking unit.
