BI & SAS Administrator Job Description:
8+ years IT experience in the areas of Business Intelligence Development and Administration
6+ years of Cognos, Tableau, SAS administration including installation, configuration, monitoring and upgrades in large-scale enterprise environments on Linux platforms
3+ years of Linux, Shell scripting experience.
Must have a thorough understanding of Cognos, Tableau and SAS architecture and the entire product suite, administration policies, techniques and methodologies.
Good Experience in Installing & configuring all Cognos components like Cognos BI, Cognos FM, Cognos Transformer, Powerplay & Access Manager.
Perform installation, configuration and administration of the Tableau server and desktop
Hands on experience in supporting SAS BIS must have worked extensively on Versions +.3 & +.4 and SAS certified is preferred
Hands on experience in supporting & administering Base SAS, SAS BAA, Campaign management, EG, EM, LSF, SAS EBIS is a must
Install/upgrade SAS product suite on different tiers. Experience in setting up & configuring Web Tier, Compute & Metadata is required
Experience in designing and implementing disaster recovery strategy and mechanisms for Business Intelligence Tech Stacks.
In-depth understanding of IT infrastructure such as servers and storage systems, operating systems, virtualization platforms, and disaster recovery tools
Good interpersonal skills with excellent communication skills - written and spoken English.
Able to interact with client projects in cross-functional teams.
Good team player interested in sharing knowledge and cross-training other team members and shows interest in learning new technologies and products.
Ability to create documents of high quality. Ability to work in a matrixed environment and follow procedures, processes and policies.
Should be flexible, hardworking, self-motivated and have a positive outlook with the ability to take on difficult initiatives and challenges
Ability to prioritize, organize, make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure
Self-starter who works with minimal supervision. Ability to work in a team of diverse skills and geographies.
"As a Lead Administrator, you should be able to act as a Single point of contact for the technical tower in front of the customer management. Ensure proper communication and quick resolution as a crisis manager. Responsible for Vendor Management and people management. Drives day to day operations and work plan allocation/management. Conduct periodic reviews with teams. Weekly and monthly status reports to higher management. Participate in business meetings with various stake holders. Take corrective actions based on the customer satisfaction surveys. Drive service improvement programs. Ensure adherence to quality / security standards defined for the engagement Perform Trend analysis, identify top few incidents and work with respective teams/individual to minimize the incidents. Effort estimation/reviews on need basis for new projects."
