Job description
Objective

The Repair Technician I is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing lighting equipment used in live productions, events, and installations. This role ensures that all lighting systems are safe, reliable, and fully operational to support high-quality productions. The technician will provide preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, and hands-on repair of various lighting fixtures and related equipment.

Job Requirements
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair a variety of lighting equipment, including static lights, moving lights, LED fixtures, dimmers, and cabling.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues in a fast-paced production environment.
• Maintain organized work areas, inventory of spare parts, and request new parts as needed.
• Exercise good judgment regarding the cost-effectiveness of repair solutions, replacing or repairing parts.
• Be accountable for and demonstrate safe and responsible use of tools: calipers, power drills, screwdrivers, light meters, heat guns, soldering iron, and other necessary tools and equipment to test and products.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts usage, and service history.
• Participate in department-wide training and cross-training programs.
• Expand product knowledge to gain a thorough understanding of market product usage and issues including, power and data integrity, control system programming, integration, and commissioning of systems.
• Communicate clearly, regularly, proactively, and promptly service findings and feedback to the appropriate service team managers/staff.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Education And/or Experience
• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school certification preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in small electronics repair, and/or stage, theatrical, concert, or production lighting repair/maintenance.
• Experience with major lighting brands is strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of electrical and electronic components.
• Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Familiarity with lighting control protocols (DMX, RDM, Art-Net, sACN).
• Skilled with hand tools, testing equipment, and soldering techniques.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently under tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication, teamwork abilities, and time-management skills.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to
• Hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. To stand; walk; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance.
• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to ten pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to fifty pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than one hundred pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Able to wear proper safety equipment.
• Overnight travel via air or land transportation may be required.

Working Conditions

Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment but may be performed outside of a climate-controlled environment. It involves exposure to moderate noise levels, bright lights, flashes/strobing, level D chemicals, and others. Travel may be required.

We are a growing plastic bottle manufacturer in Miami seeking a hands-on Lead Blow Mold Technician / Setup Mechanic with strong experience in Uniloy and/or Bekum extrusion blow molding equipment. This role is ideal for a senior-level technician who thrives in machine setups, troubleshooting, and driving production efficiency.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead mold changes, die head setups, startups, and changeovers

• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, PLC & electrical systems

• Optimize parison programming, temperatures, and cycle times

• Reduce downtime, scrap, and quality defects

• Perform preventive maintenance

• Train and mentor mechanics/technicians

• Ensure safety compliance (LOTO, GMP)

What We’re Looking For:

• 5+ xywuqvp years of blow molding experience (Uniloy/Bekum preferred)
