We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Carpenter to join our team and help drive our projects forward.
Position Overview
The Lead Carpenter will oversee day-to-day site carpentry operations, ensuring that projects are executed with precision, safety, and efficiency. This role requires hands-on expertise in carpentry, strong leadership skills, and the ability to coordinate with crews, subcontractors, and management to deliver exceptional results.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, supervise, and mentor carpentry crews on job sites.
Perform high-quality carpentry work including framing, finishing, cabinetry, doors, windows, trim, and other custom work as required.
Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to execute accurate builds.
Plan and delegate daily work tasks, ensuring projects stay on schedule and within budget.
Inspect work progress, quality, and compliance with safety standards.
Collaborate with project managers, clients, and subcontractors to resolve issues on site.
Maintain tools, equipment, and job site organization.
Train apprentices and junior carpenters, fostering skill growth and professionalism.
Enforce company safety policies and ensure all work adheres to building codes and regulations.
Qualifications
Minimum 5+ years of professional carpentry experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership/supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of residential and/or commercial construction methods and carpentry techniques.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints.
Proven leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Ability to lift heavy materials and work in various weather conditions.
Red Seal certification or equivalent (preferred, but not required depending on jurisdiction).
