Lead Ruby on Rails Engineer (Remote First)
We seek a passionate and experienced Ruby on Rails Engineer to lead the development of our cutting-edge SaaS platform in the UK. As a rapidly growing eCommerce scale-up, we require an innovative technologist to drive the success of our product.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in architecting scalable, high-performance software solutions within a SaaS environment. This is an opportunity for someone eager to collaborate with clients and stakeholders, work alongside a dynamic team of designers, engineers, and product managers, and develop a RoR product-focused team.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and deliver product-focused functionality in large-scale RoR SaaS products within an agile team.
• Make strategic technical decisions that align with client and business goals.
• Collaborate on cloud architecture and services implementation.
• Review and enhance code quality through best practices.
• Stay ahead of the curve by keeping up with new technologies and trends.
• Mentor and upskill junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
Tech Stack & Tools
• Core technologies: Rails 7, Java, JavaScript (Reactjs)
• DevOps & Cloud: AWS, Lambda, CI/CD
• Databases: MySQL, NoSQL (some MongoDB, Redis)
Nice-to-Haves
• Experience with eCommerce platforms or marketplace applications.
• Familiarity with infrastructure monitoring and observability.
• Performance optimisation at scale.
• Experience in implementing DevOps practices and automation.
