Job description
Lead Structural Engineer
An exciting opportunity is available to work on the HS2 project in a long-term contract position with a leading consultancy. The role, based in West London, offers the rare chance to be predominantly site-based.
Role and Responsibilities
• Work on site as a Designers Site Representative, acting as a liaison between the design team and the contractor.
• Participate in site support and progress meetings.
• Supervise work to ensure it complies with the approved design and specifications, and is within budget and schedule.
• Address safety and quality concerns with contractor staff and escalate issues to the Design Office and Client as necessary.
• Record all completed work on site and resources/materials utilized for future contractor applications.
Requirements
• Preferably Chartered (ICE or MIStructE).
• Prior experience in permanent works design for HS2, particularly S1/S2.
• Experience in shaft and/or headhouse design.
• Proficiency in SAP2000.
• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, ideally with a Masters.
• Prior experience as a Designer's Site Representative preferred.
Salary & Benefits
£45ph-£50ph
