Lead Technician
Zenblen is looking for a skilled, proactive, and detail-oriented individual to join us as the company’s Lead Technician.
Zenblen has created the world’s first robotic smoothie bar to revolutionize access to healthy, convenient food. We recently launched two pilot locations in Chicago, and you will play a key role in ensuring our kiosks operate smoothly in the coming months.
With two fully automated robotic kiosks already operational in Chicago and plans for many more this year, we are at a very exciting stage. Our world-class engineering team has designed an immensely successful product, and we are poised for exponential growth in 2024 and 2025, aiming to reach hundreds of potential locations in the city.
As the Lead Technician, you will be crucial in maintaining the optimal performance of our kiosks. You will oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of our kiosks, as well as develop and lead a team of maintenancetechnicians. This role places you at the forefront of how our end users experience and interact with our product. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to participate in the engineering product improvement process, providing valuable feedback to our Design for Serviceability (DFS) process.
This is a unique role where you will work closely with our world-class engineers and operations team, offering unparalleled growth opportunities and impact. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment both independently and as part of a team.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Lead the installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of smoothie kiosks in the field.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and ensure the continuous operation of kiosks.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues with kiosk hardware, software, and electrical systems.
• Responding promptly to urgent issues, such as machine breakdowns or errors, and performing necessary repairs in the field.
• Collaborate with the engineering and product development teams to improve kiosk design and functionality based on field feedback.
• Manage service-related documentation, including maintenance logs, service reports, and inventory of spare parts.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards during all service activities.
• Assisting in the development of maintenance procedures and best practices.
• Provide technical support to customers and respond to service requests in a timely manner.
• Continuously seek opportunities to improve service processes and enhance customer satisfaction.
• Train and supervise a team of maintenancetechnicians, providing guidance and support as the team grows.
This is an opportunity to join an early-stage, venture-backed startup and have a major impact on the venture. You will work extensively with the Founding Team as well as our world-class advisors. We will provide valuable mentorship in engineering, product development, and open a vast professional network in the Chicago area.
Plus, you will enjoy all the fresh delicious smoothies you can drink!
What we are looking for:
• Someone uniquely hungry for the opportunity to supercharge their career, learn from the best in the field, and isn’t afraid to work hard to challenge the status quo
• Those who deeply value ownership of work and thrive in environments with a high degree of flexibility
• Great problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with a keen eye for detail
• Desire to roll up one’s sleeves and get in the weeds, hungry to run with impactful work streams with limited guidance & resources
• Visionary thinker with the ability to thrive in dynamic & ambiguous environments - you’ll be building the plane while flying it
• An eye for innovative solutions and improvements
• A desire to work in a fast-paced startup environment, alongside passionate colleagues who are experts in their fields
• Be a “player coach”, mentoring others on the team and setting company expectations for excellence in their field
• A love for technology and innovation – extra points for being a smoothie lover!
Key Qualifications:
• 3+ years of experience in maintenance, field service engineering, or a similar role
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and software systems in automated or vending equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Ability to travel to different kiosk locations as required.
