Position Description
The Learning and Development Specialist role involves conducting assessments to identify learning needs and recommending targeted training programs. You will be responsible for creating training content and collaborating with the operations team to identify and address training needs. You will help identify and acquire external training programs to support ongoing employee development.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct learning needs assessments, identifying knowledge gaps and providing actionable recommendations of targeted programs.
Create detailed design documents, storyboards, performance-based tasks, and course content that outline instructional strategies, objectives, and learner activities.
Deliver operational and project-based training to the employee base, applying optimal adult learning strategies.
Assess the impact and effectiveness of each session, identifying areas for improvement and making relevant updates.
Assist with sourcing external training programs for continuous employee development.
Stay informed about emerging trends and technologies in instructional design and learning management.
Required Education & Qualifications

Post secondary training in adult learning or a related field plus at least 5 years of learning and development experience.
Prior experience in a learning and development position within the manufacturing or retail industry.
Self starter with the ability to develop training programs efficiently.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written.
