The Opportunity

Join a collaborative and supportive in-house legal team where culture comes first.
We are looking for a Legal Counsel who’s eager to grow their legal career within the dynamic construction industry. Prior experience in construction law isn’t essential—what matters most is your willingness to learn, your curiosity about how our business works, and your drive to develop practical, commercial legal skills in a team that values mentorship, collaboration, and continuous development.

CPP are seeking a highly motivated and commercially focussed Legal Counsel to join our national in-house Legal and Corporate Services team to contribute to Australia’s renewable energy transformation.

Bringing your experience from either a private practice and/or an in-house background, you will be encouraged and supported to grow existing legal skills and develop as a construction lawyer.

The opportunity allows you to play a crucial role in understanding CPP’s business and providing strategic legal advice, mitigating risks and ensuring compliance across all aspects of our projects. Reporting to the Legal Manager, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, project stakeholders, and external partners to support tendering activity, negotiate a range of project contracts and assist with project delivery and dispute resolution.

You will join a team of experienced Lawyers and be part of a broader Legal and Corporate Services team with a fantastic supportive and connected team culture. You will also have access to a wider network of legal resources, through our local parent company, Quanta Services Australia, and ultimate US parent company, Quanta Services Inc.

Skills and Experiences:
About You

A willingness to learn and develop your legal, technical and commercial skills in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Advanced communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders effectively.
Strong negotiation skills and the ability to work with stakeholders across all levels.
Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, manage multiple work priorities, and deliver high-quality results on time.

A desire to build and grow trusted relationships by:
working hand-in-hand with others within the Legal and Corporate Services team, as well as our project teams and delivery partners to win, negotiate and deliver projects successfully throughout the project lifecycle;
upskilling on your project delivery and technical understanding; and
