Job Title: Legal Support Specialist
Position Overview: The Legal Support Specialist will manage and oversee all aspects of eDiscovery, legal holds, and document requests within the in-house legal department. This role is integral in supporting the legal team in preserving, collecting, and processing electronically stored information (ESI) in response to litigation, regulatory inquiries, and internal investigations.
Key Responsibilities
• eDiscovery Management
• Manage eDiscovery lifecycle, including identification, preservation, collection, processing, review, analysis, and production of electronically stored information (ESI).
• Collaborate with other departments to locate and preserve ESI in compliance with discovery obligations.
• Maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive information during document retrieval.
• Legal Hold Administration
• Issue and manage legal hold notices, track compliance, and document hold lifecycles.
• Document and Data Management
• Manage document requests for litigation, regulatory inquiries, and audits, ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment.
• Collaborate with attorneys, legal operations team, and outside counsel to collect and review documents responsive to discovery requests.
• Maintain database of internal document requests, tracking deadlines and status of requests.
Qualifications
• LLB or LLM graduates.
• Licensed to practice law.
• 3-5+ years of experience in eDiscovery, legal hold management, and document production, ideally within an in-house legal department or law firm setting
• Familiarity with eDiscovery platforms (e.g., Relativity, Everlaw, Logikcull) and legal hold software.
• Strong knowledge of legal principles related to discovery, data preservation, and document retention.
• Excellent communication and project management skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently, with minimal supervision on multiple projects and handle confidential information appropriately.
• Team player with common sense, a good sense of humor and a desire to learn.
