About The Role
The Arts, Heritage and Libraries branch role is to enrich lives by providing arts and cultural leadership, opportunities, knowledge, development, connections and experience.
We are seeking a Library Officer to drive the essential day-to-day operations of the library, deliver outstanding service to customers, champion all library services and resources, and contribute to the development and continuous improvement of Sunshine Coast Libraries.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Provide outstanding customer service to Sunshine Coast Council Libraries customers
Support and guide employees and volunteers engaged in learning opportunities such as familiarisation with the library management system, library catalogue and other business processes and procedures
Promote and deliver a range of library programs including story time, lifelong learning sessions, technology sessions, outreach and events
Assist with retail presentation of libraries ensuring they remain fresh and modern looking places
Perform library duties such as shelving, issues, returns and collection maintenance
About You

Requirements:
Ability to undertake regular weekend work (under any 5 in 7 arrangement) as required
Certificate III in Library and Information Services or equivalent qualification/experience
Previous relevant experience with demonstrated communication and strong customer service skills in the provision of information in person, email, telephone and other standard business correspondence
Proficient general computer skills and demonstrated ability and willingness to learn and teach new technology, including equipment, computer applications and systems
Ability to present engaging group sessions to adults, young people, and families
Commitment to continuous learning, innovative thinking and flexibility
