Full job description
Our North Island Livestock team have an opportunity for a Livestock Representative to join the business. You will report to our NI Livestock Manager and form a key part of the Livestock team. The role will be based in the Taranaki area.
Duties and Responsibilities will include:
Procurement of cattle and sheep by sex, breed, weight, grade quality and quantity as agreed with the Regional Livestock Manager
Active relationship management of both existing and new farmer customers across your region
Attendance at livestock sales, field days and other industry events as ANZCO's representative
Daily liaison with the Livestock administration and transport teams to ensure excellent service is provided at all times and that all deadlines are met
Prioritise Health and Safety practices and adhere to all health and safety policies, procedures, and guidelines relevant to the role this includes the use of allocated technology (this includes proactively engaging and utilising any and software applications or technology to meet health and safety obligations).
Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements related to livestock procurement, transport, Biosecurity and animal welfare.
Skills and Experience we are looking for:
Considerable experience with procurement and handling/drafting of livestock
Fit and active - this role involves regular and often demanding physical work
Attention to detail and computer literacy with comprehensive and accurate record keeping at all times
Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to manage relationships in a positive manner
Ability to quickly master product and contract knowledge and the confidence to engage in robust and mutually beneficial negotiations
Proven time management and the ability to plan and prioritise tasks
The energy and passion to drive sales and deliver results
Knowledge of essential Health & Safety requirements and practices
