Local Bookkeeper or BAS Agent to join amazing| supportive team|

We are looking for a Bookkeeper extraordinaire, to work approximately 20-40 hours a month, predominantly from home with occasional onsite work.

Hourly rate:

Clerks Award Level 1-3 depending on experience

+ $2/hr to compensate for using your own equipment (phone, computer etc)

Us:

Bookkeeping, BAS and Business Consultancy, supporting the Illawarr for 10 years! We currently have 3 -4 main casual bookkeeper employees, an admin assistant, plus the director who is active with all our clients too. Most of the team have been with us for many years, adjusting their availability as needed. We LOVE what we do. And are a bit nerdy - proudly!

The vast majority of instruction and communication is conducted via email, Google Drive, Chats/hangouts messenger, and Loom video tutorials.

You:

MUST be based in the Illawarra currently. Please, NO recruiting agencies and no one from outside the area.

Uni student? Perfect! Parent returning to work? Perfect! Do you want an additional source of income on top of something else you are doing? Perfect! As long as you have the time, can meet for onsite event's occasionally, we are VERY Flexible with when the work is completed (unless a client needs a task on particular day or time, which we will check with you ahead of time). As long as you complete the tasks, we don't care when you do it! You'll have the opportunity for more hours if your work is so amazing (which is the goal!).

If you are interested in becoming a BAS Agent we will help you make that happen, which will open opportunities to earn more $$ (higher rate for BAS lodgements)!

If you have other goals in business, we will help make that happen too - If you have a side business or want to start something, free business consultancy from our director :-)

Tasks may include but are not limited to:

- Reconciling, payroll, data entry, filing

- Training clients/answering clients queries about their accounting software and records

- Using Xero, QBO and Myob

- The role can go up in hours if you want it, or stay low and flexible if you prefer. Lots of opportunities with bookkeeping and other tasks within the business, if you want it!

- Plenty of training resources will be available. We usually create a video and written instructions of tasks, so whatever helps you best, we got you.

Key requirements:

- Cert IV in Bookkeeping or Accounting or equivlent please. We cannot accept applicants that do not have this (it's a legal thing due to the nature of work we do)

- Respectful, kind and appropriate with individuals regardless of backgrounds, walks of life, gender/sexual orientations, religions, industry etc etc - absolutely no room for discrimination, teasing, bullying, etc whatsoever, with our team, clientele, or anyone :-)

- A reliable laptop or desktop computer (laptop preferred), reliable internet, reliable phone. PC (ie not apple) computer much much much preferred - state this in your cover letter please)

- For the occasional onsite event, reliable mode of transportation (even if that's uber, that's fine! as long as you know you will get yourself to and from where you are needed). All onsite clients and events are currently in the Illawarra with a rare possibility of Sydney to Nowra (appointments out of the Illawarra are not required, but may be offered as optional work)

- Advanced experience with Xero, and ideally experience with QBO and Myob (state a brief description about your experience with these in your cover letter please)

- Excellent at self-management and time efficiency

- Able to follow instructions

- Exceptional grammar and punctuation*** - you'll be communicating with clients mostly via email

- Experience with Google Drive is a major bonus. But at minimum, experience with Word and Excel.

- Positive and enthusiastic personality :-)

- As a team our clients know we are not rigid in cold statements and orders. We don't shy from using a ! or a :-) to make an email about numbers less stressful. We use shorthand with one another on the team, emojis, and speak to each other kindly and with a bit of a bounce. If something is urgent, communication may be quick and short, but we are always kind. We are professional - but also happy!

- Reliable, loyal, confidential! - So important.

- Important - Available for an onsite event (you will be paid) on Saturday 28th from 1pm to 5pm in Wollongong, for at least an hour in that window. This Is A MUST please. It'll be a fun event!

- Happy to have your photo and short videos taken for our socials and onboarding of clients etc etc

- Have or able to do a National Police check immediately. We will reimburse you 50%. (Its around $55)

This role is unique in that you'll have your tasks and its up to you to ensure they are completed by described due dates.
