I am seeking a practical proactive Logistics Assistant to join a dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the logistics operations, ensuring that materials and products are handled efficiently throughout the supply chain. This position involves coordinating shipping and receiving activities, managing inventory, and assisting with various logistics tasks to optimise the daily operations. You will provide assistance when requested by the Chargehands and Managers throughout the site.
This will suit an individual who can work in an organised manner and doesn’t mind “getting stuck in” to help out others in all areas within the working environment.
Due to the nature of the business a DBS is required which the company will fund.
Responsibilities
• Assist in the management of inventory levels and ensure accurate stock counts
• Coordinate shipping and receiving activities, including the preparation of documentation
• Utilise transportation management systems to track shipments and deliveries.
• Perform materials handling tasks
• Operate forklifts safely to move goods within the warehouse environment
• Collaborate with third-party logistics providers to ensure timely delivery of products.
• Check material requirements and inform purchasing of stock replenishment
• Support category management initiatives by maintaining accurate records of inventory movements.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the logistics environment.
Experience
• Previous experience in a logistics or supply chain role is preferred but not essential
• Proficiency in materials handling techniques, including picking, packing, and forklift operations
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and a keen attention to detail.
• A clean driving license is required due to the occasional travel to offsite locations using company vehicles
