Job Description

As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for operating injection molding machines, utilizing hand tools and power tools as needed. This role involves setting up machines, managing cycle time, and keeping track of parts. You will operate both automated and manual machines and follow work instructions to produce plastic parts for pool products. You will also be required to operate multiple machines throughout your shift.

Responsibilities
• Operate 2-3 injection mold machines during the shift.
• Set up plastic injection mold machines to specified standard cycle times.
• Purge material, remove and install molds.
• Install auxiliary equipment such as chillers and heaters.
• Perform minor maintenance and repair work on plastic molds, presses, and secondary equipment.
• Maintain process set-up sheets.
• Operate machines according to paperwork instructions.
• Walk between buildings to operate and run machines as needed.
• Communicate with the maintenance team if there are issues with the machines.
Essential Skills
• Experience as a machine operator, preferably with injection molding machines.
• Familiarity with hand tools and power tools.
• Ability to follow work instructions and maintain detailed process set-up sheets.
• Effective communication skills, especially for reporting machine issues.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
• At least 6 months of machine operating experience is preferred but not necessary.
• Experience with injection molding is a plus.
• Spanish-only language proficiency is acceptable.

Work Environment

The facility emphasizes ergonomic exercises before each shift and consistently throughout the day. You will rotate to three new machines after lunch every four hours to provide a change of scenery. The work environment can be extremely hot during the summer months and is very loud due to forklifts, sirens, and machinery. You will be standing the entire day in a fast-paced setting. Tools will be provided. Shifts are as follows: 1st shift from 6:00am to 3:30pm, 2nd shift from 2:00pm to 11:00pm, and 3rd shift from 10:00pm to 6:30am. There is a 30-minute lunch break and two 15-minute breaks. Overtime is structured with no OT in the first two weeks, 10-hour days in week three, and potentially 12-hour days from week four onwards. Notice for overtime may vary from three days to only hours in advance.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of MOORPARK, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.
