Athabasca Tribal Council (ATC) serves five First Nations communities by providing innovative programs and services that enrich the well-being, health, and prosperity of children and families. In collaboration with our various departments and five Nations, we provide multi-service delivery to support a thriving, healthy, and self-reliant future for Cree and Dene people.

Job Summary

The Athabasca Tribal Council is seeking a Main Administrative Receptionist to provide essential operational and administrative support, contributing to the effective and efficient delivery of services. The role plays a key part in ensuring the smooth daily operations of the office by handling a range of administrative, organizational, and communication responsibilities. The incumbent will support managers and staff by providing efficient, proactive administrative assistance that facilitates seamless workflow and effective internal coordination

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform a variety of front desk functions, including answering incoming calls, handling mail, printing, filing, and scanning documents to ensure smooth daily operations.

Welcome and assist visitors and clients in a professional manner, direct individuals to appropriate staff members or meeting locations.

Ensure the proper functioning of office equipment by conducting routine preventive maintenance, coordinating repairs, managing equipment inventories, and researching new technologies and tools.

Monitor office supply levels and place timely orders to support uninterrupted business operations.

Manage and coordinate company mobile devices and teleconferencing systems, ensuring functionality and availability.

Maintain and regularly update internal contact lists and organizational directories.

Process, track, and reconcile invoices accurately and within required timelines.

Coordinate the ordering and proofing process for business cards to ensure consistency with company branding.

Provide administrative support to leadership by managing calendars, scheduling appointments, and arranging travel as needed.

Assist in the planning and execution of office events and corporate functions, including coordinating logistics such as venue reservations, catering, and travel arrangements.

Review and prioritize documentation and issues for the COO to ensure urgent and high-priority matters are addressed promptly.

Perform additional duties as assigned to support the organization’s goals and operational needs.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Business Administration Certificate and/or post-secondary education in a related field preferred.

High school diploma or equivalent is required,

3-5 years of experience in office administration or a similar role.

Familiar with office procedures, record keeping, and basic accounting principles.

Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills.

Detail-oriented with effective problem-solving abilities.

Proficient in MS Office: experience with invoice processing is an asset.

Knowledge of First Nations and Communities in the RMWB.

Proficient in MS Office

Knowledge of Cree and/or Dene is considered an asset.

REQUIREMENTS

Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check.

Clear Child Intervention Record Check.

Class 5 Drivers License with a clear Drivers abstract.

Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends.

Job Types: Permanent, Full-time (37.5 hours/week)
