Role Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, CICS, and DB2.
• Design and implement data models using VSAM and SQL.
• Perform application debugging and support troubleshooting processes.
• Prepare and execute JCL scripts for job scheduling.
• Collaborate with business analysts to gather and analyze application requirements.
• Ensure application performance through code optimization and refactoring.
• Conduct thorough testing and validation of applications before deployment.
• Participate in system analysis for project planning and execution.
• Provide technical support and coaching to junior developers.
• Document all development processes and technical specifications.
• Work within a team to deliver high-quality software solutions on time.
• Assist in user training and provide ongoing support.
• Monitor mainframe operations and address any system issues that arise.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in mainframe technology.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of applications.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to standards.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Proven experience as a Mainframe Developer.
• Strong proficiency in COBOL, CICS, and DB2.
• Experience with JCL and VSAM.
• Familiarity with SQL and database design principles.
• Solid understanding of mainframe architectures and operating systems.
• Excellent debugging and analytical skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and frameworks.
• Prior experience in user support and training.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies is aplus.
• Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
