Job Summary:

As a Mainframe Developer at Spruce InfoTech, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining our mainframe applications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions, leveraging your expertise in COBOL, JCL, and DB2. Key Responsibilities:

1. Application Development: Develop, enhance, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, and DB2, ensuring code quality and performance.

2. Analysis and Design: Collaborate with business analysts and system architects to analyze requirements and design effective solutions.

3. Testing: Conduct thorough testing and debugging of mainframe applications to identify and resolve defects.

4. Performance Optimization: Optimize code and queries to improve application performance and efficiency.

5. Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, including program specifications, user guides, and process documentation.

6. Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including other developers, testers, and business stakeholders, to ensure successful project delivery.

7. Problem Resolution: Provide timely support for production issues and troubleshoot and resolve them effectively.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

- 5+ years of hands-on experience in mainframe development.

- Strong proficiency in COBOL, JCL, and DB2.

- Knowledge of mainframe utilities and tools.

- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions.
