Join our team as a Maintenance Crew Team Leader at Redland City Council:
Are you a skilled maintenance professional with leadership experience and a passion for making a hands-on difference in your community? Redland City Council is seeking a Maintenance Crew Team Leader to lead a small crew delivering high-quality maintenance services across our island communities.
As a key member of the South Moreton Bay Island Operations team, you’ll lead and support a group of Maintenance Crew Members delivering a wide range of civil, marine, and vegetation maintenance services. This is a dynamic, hands-on leadership position requiring technical capability, teamwork, and a strong commitment to safety and service delivery.
Guided by our Values you will:
Deliver routine and complex maintenance works to a high standard, on time and on budget across civil, marine and vegetation infrastructure.
Lead, supervise, and motivate a small crew with professionalism and equity.
Ensure safety compliance and proactively manage environmental and WHS requirements.
Communicate with internal and external stakeholders in a respectful and responsive manner.
Provide technical advice and encourage innovation in maintenance practices.

This role is based on the Southern Moreton Bay Islands (SMBI), including Karragarra Island, Lamb Island, Macleay Island and Russell Island. For non-island residents travel to the islands will be subsidised.
About you:
Demonstrated experience in civil, marine or vegetation maintenance
Strong leadership and people management skills.
Excavator experience ideal but not essential
A sound understanding of workplace health and safety and environmental responsibilities.
Customer-focused communication style and a commitment to service excellence.
Physical fitness to undertake labouring duties and use plant/equipment safely.
Ability to use asset management systems to report and manage defects.
You’ll hold a Cert II Civil Construction (or equivalent qualification), or significant relevant experience in a similar role and the ability to rapidly acquire a Cert II Civil Construction.
You'll be able to participate in the after-hours on-call roster, including remote response and site-related operations over weekends and public holidays on a rostered basis.
