NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is a leading healthcare system in the UK, employing over 40,000 staff across various clinical and non-clinical professions. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community, and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million.

The successful candidate will work on a shift pattern of Monday to Thursday (08:00-16:00) and Friday (08:00-15:30). They will be part of the Estates Department at Gartnavel General Hospital.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical expertise and maintain safe and efficient systems of work for building services.
Operate electrical services to meet the needs of NHS GG&C Health Board, ensuring patient care is delivered safely and efficiently.
Examine and inspect faults in plant and machinery, recommend repairs, and discuss with managers regarding potential impacts on wards, theatres, or patients.
Carry out planned preventative maintenance using work requests and complete all required records and documentation.
Work within NHS GG&C Health and Safety and SHTM Policies and Procedures.
Undertake minor alterations and modifications to existing services.
Carry out electrical circuit testing according to regulations.
Organize and manage daily workloads and priorities, including on-call duties to attend to emergency repairs outside normal hours.
Qualifications:
Recognized EITB or CITB (or equivalent) craft Apprenticeship or City & Guilds qualification. A competent tradesperson with extensive experience in building maintenance, preferably acquired within the healthcare sector.
A suitable HNC or equivalent qualification in a core subject, with additional qualifications as required in non-core skills.
