Job Summary

The Maintenance Fitter will be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of production equipment in an aluminium manufacturing facility. This role involves preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs to ensure machinery operates efficiently and safely. The position requires a basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, along with a commitment to maintaining high production standards.

Key Responsibilities
• Preventive Maintenance:
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment, including conveyors, presses, extruders, and other aluminium processing machines.
• Identify worn-out parts, lubricate machinery, and monitor equipment for any signs of malfunctions.
• Repairs and Troubleshooting:
• Assist in diagnosing issues with machinery and equipment, such as motors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Conduct basic repairs or adjustments to keep equipment operational, involving tasks such as replacing bearings, gears, or worn-out components.
• Installation and Assembly:
• Assist senior technicians in the installation and assembly of new equipment, including aligning and positioning of components as per specifications.
• Ensure proper installation and connection of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic parts.
• Safety and Compliance:
• Follow safety protocols and wear personal protective equipment (PPE) while working.
• Report any hazards or potential safety issues to supervisors and ensure compliance with company safety standards.
• Documentation:
• Maintain records of maintenance tasks performed, including repairs, part replacements, and inspections.
• Support the development of maintenance schedules and document any issues or suggestions for improvements.
