Responsibilities
American National is seeking to hire a full-time team member who will lead investment accounting team members who are responsible for the daily reconciliations of investment-related activities including, but not limited to, transactions, holdings, and bank balances
Motivate a team of investment accounting professionals to ensure the completion of accurate work in a time sensitive environment
Utilize appropriate software as a service for accounting stock, bond, & option investments
Drive process improvements, striving to increase efficiency, and ensure best practices
Coordinate and assist team with investment accounting reconciliations
Assist with the preparation and submission of statutory financial reports required by various state insurance departments, the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC), and internal management
Run the preparation and review of annual statutory audited financials and maintain responsibility for the coordination of an audit with external auditors
Research new accounting and reporting guidance
Participate on a cross-company team to implement new guidance
Administer the accounting system and related procedural workflows to ensure consistent processes and accurate records related to investment accounts and positions, trade allocations, security pricing, capital transactions, securities reorganizations, composite memberships, and performance calculations
Ensure integrity of system data and maintain capabilities for providing accurate recurring and ad-hoc reporting deliverables to both internal and external clients

American National is seeking to hire a full-time team member who will lead investment accounting team members who are responsible for the daily reconciliations of investment-related activities including, but not limited to, transactions, holdings, and bank balances. Onsite Placement Options: League City, Galveston, Houston & San Antonio, Texas-Des Moines, Iowa, Chicago Illinois, Glenmont, New York, and Springfield, Missouri –Relocation assistance offered accordingly

What You Will Do

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or finance, preferred
• Professional work experience in investment accounting and insurance
• Professional leadership experience
