Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Manager - Legal Counsel at LoanTap Financial Technologies in Pune. This role will provide legal support and guidance to the company on various aspects of its operations with a minimum of 3 -5 years experience in Legal Role. This role involves managing and monitoring legal risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, handling legal disputes, and providing counsel on contractual matters. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in financial services law, particularly within the NBFC sector.
Role & Responsibilities:
Legal Advisory & Compliance:
• Provide legal advice on regulatory compliance, particularly with RBI guidelines, Audit and other financial regulations.
• Ensure the company’s operations comply with applicable laws and regulations.
• Monitor changes in legislation and advise management on the legal implications.
• Must be aware of Unsecured Leading – Section 138, NI Act, Sec 25 (payment and Settlement)
• Must be aware of Commercial Law & Customer Grievance Redressal
Contract Management:
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents to protect the company’s interests.
• Ensure all contracts are legally sound and compliant with the company’s policies.
Dispute Resolution & Litigation:
• Handle and manage litigation, including liaising with external counsel.
• Represent the company in legal proceedings when necessary.
• Resolve disputes in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Risk Management:
• Identify potential legal risks and provide solutions to mitigate them.
• Advise on the structuring of financial products and services to minimize legal risks.
Liaison & Coordination:
• Coordinate with regulatory authorities, external legal counsel, and other stakeholders.
• Maintain relationships with key legal and regulatory bodies.
• Training & Development: Conduct legal training for employees on compliance, risk management, and other relevant topics.
• Stay updated on legal trends and best practices in the financial sector.
Qualifications:
• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) is required. A Master’s degree in Law (LLM) or specialized certifications in Corporate and Financial law is preferred.
• Experience: 3-5 years of experience in a legal role, preferably within Banking and financial services or in-house NBFC.
Skills & Competencies:
