About Us
The Temerty Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto is at the centre of one of North America’s largest biomedical research, education and clinical care networks. With nine fully affiliated research-intensive hospitals — and dozens of community and clinical care sites — Temerty Medicine offers unparalleled opportunities in Canada’s most dynamic city for our more than +,000 faculty and staff and 7,000 learners at all levels.
Annually, Temerty Medicine contributes almost one-third of the family physicians who train and enter practice in Ontario, and over half of the specialist physicians. We also train hundreds of rehabilitation health professionals, physician assistants and medical radiation technologists, and over 3,000 graduate life-sciences learners — many of whom find work in postsecondary education and industry. Globally, we have over 6+,000 alumni.
Your Opportunity
As Manager, Planning and Operations, you will be entrusted as a key business partner to develop purposeful collaborations between the Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) and designated departments across Temerty Medicine. With a dual reporting relationship, you will primarily report to the Office of the CAO for administrative services planning and delivery and you will have a functional reporting relationship to the Chair(s) for academic and research program operations. You will provide functional and operational leadership to Department Chairs and the CAO regarding short- and long-term strategic planning, ensuring the optimization of operational efficiencies between different academic, research and administrative units. Your ability to embrace new challenges as they emerge, coupled with your exceptional financial management and people leadership skills, will enable you to evaluate processes, articulate vulnerabilities and identify cost effective approaches, recommend fiscal strategies to academic leadership, and deliver quality business solutions that will help us enhance our collective effectiveness and operational agility.
