Novel believes that the world would be a better place if all pets were cared for, unconditionally. In order to accomplish this, veterinary medicine needs to be made more accessible for all.
Novel is creating a new standard of accessible veterinary medicine through our technician-led approach. This proprietary (indeed, novel) way of operating allows us to increase our veterinary output without compromising on the quality of medicine or appointment duration. Our operators are all owners, creating an aligned long-term interest between corporate and patient interest.

ABOUT THE MARKETING AND SALES INTERN ROLE
Novel opened the doors to its inaugural location, located at 561 Brant Street in Burlington, on April 11th, 2025. In order to meet the demand from the community at large and continue to grow, Novel is looking for a sales and marketing intern to help support inbound leads, conduct outbound sales, and support general marketing initiatives.
The Marketing and Sales Intern will focus their efforts on growing our membership base and optimizing for a successful member experience. Responsibilities will include:
Following up with inbound leads
Facilitating relationships with the community at large
Implementing effective marketing campaigns
Supporting effective client-facing communications
The right candidate will be an excellent communicator, both verbal and written. Comfort and confidence with outbound phone and in-person conversation is required. Energy, enthusiasm and extroversion are required for success within this role. Finally, alignment with our corporate mission is a must.
Our Marketing and Sales Intern possesses the following traits, abilities and competencies:
Professional communication skills: confident and personable written and verbal communication skills
Hyper-organization and attention to detail. The ability to triage responsibilities based on urgency and prioritization.
A comfort with outbound, B2B sales: naturally confident while speaking face-to-face and over the phone with members of the community
Some experience with email marketing an asset
Some experience with CRM systems (HubSpot) an asset
An eager, enthusiastic, can-do attitude. A team player willing to play a pivotal role amongst a small team!
Finally, as an early team member of Novel, the right candidate contributes to the establishment of founding corporate culture. They are excited by the prospect of building a brand and have a flexible, willing approach to their professional contributions. They are possibly interested in supporting the growth of the business should a long-term alignment be present.
This is a temporary position from May-August with the potential for expansion thereafter.
SALARY
$20/hour
