We’re looking for a creative and self-motivated Marketing & Communications Intern to lead the charge in rebranding Parkdale United Church and developing a cohesive digital presence across all our platforms. This is a unique opportunity for a marketing or communications student in their third or fourth year to create a meaningful and lasting impact in a progressive, community-oriented faith organization.
Key Responsibilities
Rebranding: Develop a refreshed visual and messaging identity that reflects our values of inclusivity, faith, community, and justice.
Social Media Strategy: Build and launch social media accounts for the church, Parkdale Performing Arts program, children’s ministry, and other church initiatives.
Content Creation: Design and schedule engaging content (graphics, stories, reels, event posts) that reflects the life and mission of Parkdale.
Marketing Plan: Create a clear, user-friendly marketing plan and toolkit for staff and volunteers to use after the internship ends.
Website Review: Propose improvements to enhance our website’s impact and accessibility.
Community Engagement: Collaborate with staff and community members to share their stories and create consistent, values-based messaging.
Event Promotion: Assist with promoting summer and fall events, including worship services, children’s programs, and artistic performances.
Qualifications
Enrolled in a post-secondary program in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field (3rd or 4th year preferred)
Strong understanding of brand development, social media strategy, and digital marketing tools
Experience with Canva, Instagram, Facebook, and basic website platforms (e.g., WordPress, Wix, etc.)
Strong writing and visual storytelling skills
Creative, organized, and able to work independently
Comfortable working in a progressive Christian context that prioritizes justice, inclusion, and community building
