What is the Opportunity?
Reporting to the Marketing Manager, Events, the Marketing Coordinator (Summer Intern) will assist in various marketing projects for internal events and initiatives at The Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM). This includes supporting marketing efforts for the three schools within RCM: The Glenn Gould School (GGS), The Phil and Eli Taylor Performance Academy for Young Artists (Taylor), and the Oscar Peterson School of Music (OPSM). They will also assist with data management tasks, including maintaining the Marketing and Communications Team’s photo library, among other responsibilities. Additionally, the Marketing Coordinator will support on-site events aimed at fostering a sense of community within the RCM.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Conducting research on market trends, competitors, and customer preferences.
Preparing reports and analyzing marketing performance data.
Manage the execution of specific Marketing projects including, but not limited to, the timely development and production of marketing collateral and resources for GGS, OPSM and Taylor Academy.
Ensure that print collateral is executed in a timely manner with external vendors involved.
Support media outreach initiatives, as required.
Timeline management for Marketing & Communications projects.
Represent the company at events as needed.
Other responsibilities as assigned.
Job Requirements:
What We're Looking For
This position is intended to be funded by Canada Summer Jobs grant, which requires that the incumbent must meet the following eligibility criteria:
Be between 15-30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period;
Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; and,
Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in business administration, marketing, communications, arts management, or another related field; or equivalent experience.
Knowledge of social media platforms (Facebook, Reddit, Instagram, YouTube etc.).
Proficiency in Adobe Suite, Canva, or any other design platforms to deliver creative content (text, image, and video).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Team-oriented with an ability to work independently in a self-directed role.
Strict attention to detail.
Capable of prioritizing effectively.
Passion for music and the performing arts.
Exceptional customer service and organizational skills and a flexible schedule based on the needs of the role, including evenings and weekends.
Hourly Rate
$18.00 per hour
Additional Information
This is a temporary contract, working thirty (30) hours per week for approximately 16 weeks in Summer 2025 (May – August).
Regular office environment, working on-site while supporting standard office hours.
Flexibility to work unconventional hours at times, including evenings and weekends.
