We are looking for a Marketing Planning Coordinator who has proven experience in project management and planning, who thrives in a fast-paced environment and who enjoys juggling multiple responsibilities and tasks concurrently.

As a member of the marketing team, this new role will work closely with the Marketing Planning Manager to support team planning as well as leverage and grow a range of activities engaging key stakeholders to support the Agency’s strategic objectives.

What you'll be responsible for:
Supporting the marketing planning function and providing day-to-day marketing coordination and support to the Marketing Planning Manager and marketing team. This includes meeting coordination, budget expenditure reporting, filing of key documents, maintaining program planning calendars, and general support for projects and initiatives.
Triaging and prioritisation of new/responsive marketing opportunities by providing assessment and recommendations and facilitating activity to help inform and guide tourism operators on how to leverage the Tourism Tasmania marketing program.
Working with key stakeholders to manage an up-to-date calendar of major events by region and providing support and guidance on how event operators can leverage the Tourism Tasmania marketing program.
Maintaining a high degree of awareness across Tourism Tasmania’s marketing program, including being familiar with the strategic direction and current activities and issues associated with the marketing team.
Keeping track of market trends, consumer behaviour, and competitors’ activities to support strategy development.
Managing, planning, and prioritising workload in line with the Marketing Planning Manager’s competing priorities.
What you'll work on:
Inform the development and facilitate delivery of Tourism Tasmania’s marketing strategies.
Support the delivery of Tourism Tasmania’s Marketing Proposals program, using marketing knowledge and initiative to triage opportunities and action approved activity.
Work with the Regional Tourism Organisations (RTOs) and other stakeholders to support the promotion of our regions and leverage opportunities to facilitate regional dispersal.
Assisting the Chief Marketing Officer and senior marketing leaders as requested by the Marketing Planning Manager.
Working with the Marketing Leadership Team and the broader marketing team to deliver on key priorities and bring curiosity and contemporary thinking to our marketing program.
Monitoring project budgets and completing budget manager tasks, as required.
Researching and collating material relevant to issues under consideration by the Marketing Planning Manager and Chief Marketing Officer.
Preparing briefs for responsive marketing activities and approved marketing proposals.
Performing a range of administrative and supporting program and/or project tasks, as required.

Period of appointment:
Fixed term flexible (minimum 0.8 FTE) for two years
