Job description
Collaborate with professionals throughout the nation at Trollwood Performing Arts School, a unique youth arts organization producing a high-quality musical production in our outdoor amphitheater at Bluestem Center for the Arts in Moorhead, MN. We are seeking a Master Carpenter for our summer production of MAMMA MIA to assist in leading the construction team, ensuring the creation of all scenic elements necessary for the production, including furniture and scenery. This role is central to assisting in leading the construction team.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Degree in technical theatre with an emphasis in scenic construction, highly preferred.
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years related experience in scenic construction and stagecraft.
• High level of skill in scenic construction techniques and practices, including proficiency in welding and rigging.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a team.
• Experience in an educational theatrical production and the ability to work and teach youth.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in leading the construction and installation of scenic elements under the guidance of the ATD/Shop Foreman and Technical Director.
• Collaborate closely with the scenic team to ensure all scenic constructions are completed on time, within budget, and meet safety standards.
• Teach and mentor students involved in the technical aspects of theatre production.

Contract Details:
• Position Type: On-site, full time from May 1+ to July 22, 2025. Not affiliated with any unions.

Compensation:
• Salary: $20 per hour; includes travel stipend and housing.
