MASTER DATA ADMINISTRATOR

this role you will be required to maintain system data in the appropriate structures to ensure that the council’s core system master data and approval matrix are maintained effectively to support the provision of timely and accurate financial reporting and accounting support services to the organisation.
User set up and proxies in the approval matrix.
Supplier set up in the system once approved by Procurement.
Undertake application maintenance, including set up of new capex projects, employees, chart of accounts.
Undertake data extractions and ad hoc queries as requested.
Maintain appropriate knowledge of systems / databases which integrate with the council’s financial applications.
Timesheet corrections/changes post manager approval.
Maintaining “leavers” checks and keeping system records up to date.
Help to maintain documentation of systems / processes.

The core skillset that we are seeking in the incumbent includes:
Proven success at building relationships and resolving issues with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to deliver in an environment that could be high pressure and rapidly changing.
It would be useful for the incumbent to have an understanding of basic accounting principles as they apply to the role. It will involve an understanding of the nature of the transactions being processed, and the ability to assess whether the information provided is complete, accurate and correct.
Excellent communication skills – written and verbal.
Eye for detail – high degree of accuracy when undertaking tasks.
Mō ngā pūkenga | Qualifications and experience
3-5 years relevant data management experience in large financial management systems.
Proven experience in managing complex data via integration across applications.
Minimum level 3 NCEA or equivalent.

You would be part of the Financial Accounting and Rates team consisting of 18 employees.
This role works closely with the Data Analyst and Financial Accountant.
