Full job description
Aspire Learning Academy is currently seeking experienced high school level math tutors who are able to come in the centre for in-person lessons during regular business hours (Monday-Thursday 3pm - +pm) and possibly weekends.
Aspire Learning Academy supports the learning needs of elementary students from JK to Grade 7 and high school, Grade 8 to 12. We offer Private tutoring as well as Group Lessons. We offer flexible scheduling that fits with your availability along with competitive compensation. Each student is matched with a tutor who fits their learning style, needs and location.
Job Qualifications: Will you make a great tutor? We are looking for qualified undergraduate students, graduate students, degree holders and working professionals alike!
Qualifications:
Experience in tutoring high school level math
Strong academic background
Clear communication skills in English
Criminal background check – Cleared
Strong Assets (but not mandatory):
Experience in teaching students with learning disabilities
Experience in teaching students executive functioning skills
Teaching certification
In-progress or completed degree in related field
The ability to tutor in multiple subjects listed above
Job Description:
Must be available to come in the centre Monday - Thursday, 3pm to +pm, and possibly weekends.
Provide individual and small group instruction in order to ensure academic excellence by knowing the needs of the students and adapting the curricula to challenge them appropriately.
Participate in appropriate in-service programs or other professional development.
Participate in parent-teacher conferences as required or requested.
Maintain a professional manner when interacting with students, parents, community agencies, and colleagues.
Be flexible with providing instruction both virtually and in hybrid teaching models.
Perform other assigned duties.
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Contract length: 24 months
Pay: $35.00-$55.00 per hour
Expected hours: 6 – 20 per week
