Job Summary

Tesla Controls (India) Private Limited is seeking a motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to join our engineering team in Chennai. The ideal candidate will have over a year of experience in mechanical design, with a strong understanding of design software, engineering principles, and manufacturing processes. This role involves designing mechanical systems and components, ensuring they meet the required specifications, functionality, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
• Mechanical Design: Develop and create detailed mechanical designs, including 3D models, drawings, and assemblies for various projects.
• System Integration: Work closely with electrical and software engineers to integrate mechanical designs into larger systems.
• Material Selection: Choose appropriate materials and components that meet the design requirements while considering cost and manufacturability.
• Prototyping: Assist in the development of prototypes, including hands-on work and coordination with manufacturing teams.
• Testing and Validation: Conduct tests on mechanical components and systems to ensure they perform as expected under various conditions.
• Documentation: Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, drawings, and test reports.
• Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving design processes, reducing costs, and enhancing product performance.

Skills And Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in mechanical design or a related role.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in mechanical design software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA).
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, including thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and material science.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, casting, and injection molding.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and solve mechanical design challenges effectively.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Attention to Detail: High level of precision and accuracy in design work.
