Job Description

Currently, we are looking for a Factory Medical Officer for one of our clients which is a trusted and reputed brand in the metal sector.

The job details are as follows

Position / Designation : Factory Medical Officer (FMO)

Qualification : MBBS

Work experience : Minimum 5 years of Experience as FMO

Specialization : Industrial Certification

Salary : As per Industry Standards

Work Location : Kolkata

Roles :
• Act as the primary healthcare provider for workers, offering medical services and treatment on-site.
• Serve as an advisor to management on health-related issues, including workplace safety, occupational hazards, and health policies.
• Ensure statutory compliance as per the Factories Act and other statutory authorities.

Responsibilities :
• Perform pre-employment, periodic, and post-employment medical examinations to assess the fitness of workers for their roles.
• Provide immediate medical care for injuries and illnesses that occur on-site, and refer to specialized care if needed.
• Implement programs that promote the health and well-being of workers, such as vaccination drives, health awareness campaigns, and fitness programs.
• Keep detailed and confidential records of all medical examinations, treatments provided, and any other health-related interactions with workers.
• Oversee programs aimed at preventing occupational diseases and injuries, including ergonomic assessments, noise control, and stress management.
• Develop and regularly update the factory's emergency medical response plan, including training workers in first aid and conducting drills.
• Investigate incidents of illness or injury to determine root causes and recommend preventive measures.
• Ensure timely reporting of health incidents to regulatory authorities and maintain documentation required for compliance with health and safety laws.
• Provide recommendations on improving the workplace environment to reduce health risks, such as ventilation, lighting, and sanitation improvements.
