About us

The Auckland Regional Forensic Psychiatry Services (ARFPS), also known as the Mason Clinic, is the largest Forensic Mental Health Service in New Zealand. The Mason Clinic is in a period of growth and expansion. With over 220 inpatient beds it is the largest provider of mental health inpatient services on one site in the country.

Kahikatea unit is a minimum secure, rehabilitation unit for men only and there is a strong focus on offence specific care programming for violent and ****** offending. This role requires strong abilities to handle and redirect challenging behaviours.

About the role

We are recruiting Mental Health Care Assistants for our Unit. In this role, you will assist the Registered Nursing staff to provide delegated nursing care which is safe, respectful and individualised.

We are interested in hearing from Mental Health Care Assistants, those who are keen and motivated to practice in a new subspecialty area, or those with existing specialist ID or forensic experience. Training and support are key priorities in developing our workforce.

Essential

Experience working with people of all cultures who experience intellectual disability
Ability to work under directions and delegation of Registered Nurse
NZ driver's license
