Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing diesel engines and heavy equipment. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits.
Duties:
- Perform routine maintenance on diesel engines, including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues with diesel engines, such as faulty fuel systems or engine overheating
- Conduct inspections of heavy equipment to identify any potential issues or malfunctions
- Use diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot electrical systems in diesel engines
- Repair or replace faulty parts in diesel engines, such as pistons, valves, or gaskets
- Operate heavy equipment to test repairs and ensure proper functioning
- Solder electrical connections and repair wiring harnesses as needed
- Maintain accurate records of all repairs and maintenance performed
Skills:
- Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of diesel engines
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing electrical systems in diesel engines
- Experience with heavy equipment operation and maintenance
- Knowledge of hydraulics and ability to repair hydraulic systems
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical manuals
- Familiarity with farm machinery is a plus
- Physical strength and ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary
- Correctly diagnose and repair equipment issues
- Complete machine repair reports and document all needed information
- Experience in troubleshooting and repair of Heavy Construction Equipment preferred
- Work alone with a limited amount of supervision
- Maximize the efficient use of service and repair processes to provide fast accurate repairs and minimize unnecessary expense
- Efficiently utilize tooling and technical resources
- Represent the company in a positive, professional manner
- Communicate options to correct current problems
Class 8 and Heavy Equipment experience Preferred.
