Key Responsibilities:
Database Management: Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Microsoft SQL Server databases across multiple environments, including development, testing, and production.
Performance Optimization: Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and proactively implement optimization strategies to ensure optimal system responsiveness and efficiency.
Security Management: Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect sensitive data, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies.
Backup and Recovery: Develop and implement effective backup and disaster recovery plans to safeguard data integrity and minimize downtime in case of emergencies or failures.
Capacity Planning: Conduct regular capacity assessments to forecast future database growth and recommend necessary hardware and software upgrades.
Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Investigate and resolve. complex database issues, working closely with development and IT teams to identify root causes and implement appropriate solutions.
Automation and Scripting: Develop automation scripts and tools to streamline routine database administration tasks and improve overall operational efficiency.
Database Upgrades and Patching: Plan and execute database software upgrades and apply patches to ensure systems are up-to-date and secure.
Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, system administrators, and data analysts, to support database-related initiatives and projects.
Documentation: Maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation of database configurations, procedures, and best practices.
Performance Monitoring: Set up and utilize monitoring tools to track database health and performance metrics, promptly addressing anomalies and potential issues.
Compliance and Governance: Ensure databases comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal data governance policies.

Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Equivalent work experience will be considered.
Proven experience as a Database Administrator, specifically with Microsoft SQL Server, at least 5 years at a mid-Sinor-level or above.
Advanced knowledge of database concepts, SQL querying, and performance tuning.
Expertise in configuring and maintaining SQL Server high availability solutions (e.g., Always-On Availability Groups, Failover Clustering).
In-depth understanding of security practices and principles in database administration.
Proficiency in database backup and recovery strategies.
Familiarity with automation and scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve complex database issues.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and collaborate within a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
Microsoft SQL Server certifications (e.g., MCSA: SQL Server, MCSE: Data Management and Analytics).
Experience with cloud-based database solutions, such as Microsoft Azure SQL Database, AWS or near cloud.
Familiarity with other database systems, like MySQL or Oracle.
Knowledge of database-related DevOps practices and tools.
Experience with performance monitoring and tuning tools (e.g., SQL Server Profiler, Extended Events
