Job Description

We're a busy family in Burleigh Waters looking for an experienced, warm, and highly organised nanny and housekeeper to join us on an ongoing basis. Our household includes two adults, a seven-year-old daughter, and two French Bulldogs. We live in a four-bedroom, two-storey home and need someone who can keep things running smoothly day to day while also being genuinely engaged with our daughter during the time she's home.

This is a combined role. During school hours the focus is household management, and from school pickup onward it shifts into childcare mode.

Schedule:

Monday: 10am to 6pm (school pickup)

Tuesday: 10am to 6pm (school pickup)

Wednesday: 7am to 3pm (school drop off)

Thursday: 10am to 6pm (school pickup)

Friday: 7am to 3pm (school drop off)

Location: Burleigh Waters (home) and Robina (office)

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

School Run and Childcare:

- School pickups on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays at approximately 2:45pm

- School morning preparation on select days including helping our daughter get ready and prepped for the day

- After-school care until parents are home, which may include activities, homework support, uniform and school lunch prep for the next day, or time at our Robina office

- Engaging our daughter in creative activities like crafting, drawing, and hands-on play

- On days our daughter is unwell and home from school, the role shifts to full childcare with reduced household duties

Household Management:

- Daily tidying throughout the home including bedrooms, living areas, kitchen, and bathrooms

- Daily vacuuming (we have two French Bulldogs, so this is essential)

- Weekly deeper clean including mopping floors, thorough bathroom and kitchen clean, and washing bedsheets

- Laundry daily including washing, drying, folding, and putting away for the whole household

- Meal preparation including school lunches, dinner and lunch options for the family. Strong cooking skills are important to us. We'd love someone who can prepare quality, nutritious meals and help improve our daughter's diet with more variety and vegetables

- Grocery shopping and pantry management, keeping the household well stocked

- General errands as needed including parcels, dry cleaning, post office runs

- An expense card will be provided for all household purchases, groceries, and family-related errands

- Petrol costs related to the role will be covered

School Holidays:

During school holidays, the role shifts significantly toward childcare with household duties scaled back accordingly. Some school holiday care may also take place at our Robina office.

Occasional Babysitting and Travel:

- Occasional evening or weekend babysitting (minimum two nights per month, arranged in advance)

- We also travel as a family and would love to find someone open to travelling with us when needed

What We're Looking For

Essential:

- Minimum three to five years of proven experience in a nanny, childcare, or combined nanny and housekeeper role

- Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card)

- Relevant childcare qualifications

- Strong cooking skills (this is genuinely important to us)

- Valid driver's licence and reliable vehicle

- Comfortable with dogs

- Trustworthy, warm, organised, and able to work with initiative and independence

Bonus:

- Interest in creative activities like crafting, drawing, and hands-on play

- First Aid certification

- Experience with household management or a previous housekeeper role

Practical Details:

- Live-out position, daily start and finish

- Standard eight-hour days, Monday to Friday

- Flexible start times depending on the day's schedule

- One parent works from home regularly

- Expense card provided for all household purchases and errands

- Petrol costs covered
