Responsibilities
Shift: Flexibility to the following: M-F 7-430 or 12 hr shifts from 7 pm - 730 am
Under the direct supervision of the Manager or designee, performs neurodiagnostic EEG procedures
Perform EEG record according to the standards of the laboratory (routine, sleep and bedside recordings)
IMPORTANT!
Measure and accurately apply electrodes in a timely manner, according to the International 10-20 System; ensure that electrode impedances meet laboratory standards
Write a patient history gathering appropriate information from patient, patient's record and family members to include seizure types, date of last seizure, other neurological symptomatology and medications; explain test procedure to patient and family members present
Implements alternative methods or adjusts controls to obtain optimal recording
This may include appropriate control setting changes on the machine, use of extra electrodes, extra montages and use of activation procedures
Recognize artifact (patient or environmental); document, eliminate or take proper measures to monitor the artifact
Troubleshoot equipment problems and repair them or report to supervisor promptly
Participate in conferences and technical meetings
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

Summary:

WORK EXPERIENCE
• At least 1 year job related experience Preferred
• Experience working in EEG or Epilepsy Monitoring Unit setting Preferred

EDUCATION
• High school diploma or GED; additional training beyond high school Required
• Graduate of an Accredited Electroneurodiagnostic technology program accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation or equivalent formal training (college level course work will be considered in science area will be considered) Preferred

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
• Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers as required by CP 1.20 Life Support Course Requirements Required
