Nurse Educator - Professional Development Unit
Our team at the Professional Development Unit (PDU) within Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand Waitaha Canterbury, Christchurch is seeking an experienced Nurse Educator.

About the Role
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual to contribute to the delivery of clinical education for the nursing workforce.

Key Responsibilities
Facilitate nursing training and education activities according to prescribed standards and adult learning principles.
Assist in the orientation and preceptorship of new/resuming nursing staff, ensuring adherence to competency-based approaches and best practices.
Contribute to the implementation and maintenance of educative initiatives to ensure compliance with relevant policies and legislative requirements.
Demonstrate commitment to personal and professional development, attending relevant education programs and staying updated on nursing trends.
Promote the PDU in a positive and accurate manner to the public, consumers, and other staff members.
About You
You will have a warm, friendly approach and excellent interpersonal skills, as well as organisational skills and the ability to be discreet with the information you work with.

You will interact with a range of people, so your ability to be sensitive to diversity and cultural needs will be highly valued in this environment.

Requirements
Evidence of continuing nursing education and professional development commensurate with the role.
Demonstrated clinical teaching abilities.
Ideally holds a Certificate of Adult Teaching or graduate qualification in Adult Education (or equivalent) or is working towards this.
A relevant postgraduate qualification in nursing or working towards one.
CPR Instructor's Certificate.
PDRP assessor/resource person.
Ability to work autonomously and effectively within a small team.
Able to work under pressure to fulfil urgent requests within tight time-frames.
Self-motivated and an ability to contribute to and accommodate change.
Demonstrate a commitment to developing an understanding of the Treaty of Waitangi, Maori, and other cultural issues as related to the PDU.
Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC).
