Ashvattha Learning Communities aims to nurture compassionate and courageous educators by creating learning communities and holistic experiences rooted in reflective practice.

In the 21st century, demands from school education are rapidly evolving. Teacher education needs to evolve in sync with these changing expectations and Ashvattha Learning Communities aims to be a trailblazer in this field.

We are creating scaffolded and guided field experiences for pre-service teachers, i.e. students and recent graduates of teacher training institutions before they become teachers in the formal education system. These experiences will support young teachers to have a strong professional foundation, build competencies for lifelong learning and find support in peer communities.

We are currently hiring for two roles.

A. Program Associate, Neev Teacher Fellowship

Full time | Jaipur | Starts May 2023

We are hiring a program associate to implement our new program – Neev Teacher Fellowship, where young primary grade teachers will receive 1 year long training, lesson plan support, exposure opportunities, peer community and expert mentorship. Teachers can then choose to continue the fellowship support for another year and build their leadership skills to support other teachers. We are looking for someone who enjoys creating something from scratch and is driven by taking initiative.

Compensation 3-3.6 lakh per annum; commensurate with experience.

Who are we looking for: School teaching experience required

What you’ll get to learn and do:

Recruit teacher fellows:
• Create school and teacher facing documents and creatives
• Build school partnerships for implementing the fellowship
• Design and conduct teacher awareness sessions in the schools as required (teacher training, fellowship information, classroom session)
• Organise teacher selection day, conduct teacher interviews as required

Support teacher fellows:
• Create welcome packets and processes (communication, reimbursement)
• Build an active whatsapp/telegram group community
• Coordinate with teacher fellows to ensure attendance and accountability
• Observe classroom and give specific feedback
• Cultivate authentic relationships with participants and be a mentor to them
• Capture teacher experiences/stories

Training:
• Support in conducting technical teacher training sessions (in person, virtual)
• Support in creating digital content for training and supporting the fellows
• Conduct shikshak chaupal sessions – in-person and virtual
• Organize and manage training logistics for in-person sessions
• Collect and collate fellow feedback on training

Stakeholder management:
• Maintain school and teacher fellow data (including attendance, participation, progress etc.)
• Build school partnerships and ensure regular communication
• Support with M&E activities as required

B. Program Manager, Teacher Learning Center

Full time | Jaipur [with travel to Alwar] | Starts May 2023

We are hiring a program manager to lead our program – Teacher Learning Centers (TLC), where we create exposure, reflection and training opportunities for pre-service and in-service teachers. We run two TLCs, one in a government school in Alwar and an after school center in Jaipur where we directly work with children aged 6-12 years, as well as, engage teachers in multiple programs. Our flagship program for B.Ed. students – Internship support program is also housed at TLC. We are looking for someone who enjoys building on existing ideas and is driven by taking initiative.

Compensation 3.6-4.8 lakh per annum; commensurate with experience.

Who are we looking for: Experience of managing individuals/teams/projects required

• Thinks on their feet, good at problem solving
• Excellent verbal communication (English and Hindi)
• Can empathise with diverse stakeholders and understands systems
• Good time management, planning and coordination skills
• Good digital, documentation and data management skills
• Community work experience is a plus
• School teaching experience is a plus
• Hindi writing skills, creative skills will be given priority

• Building and implementing parent/community engagement plans
• Designing a resource center for student led learning
• Troubleshooting and mentorship
• Ensure M&E activities, reflection and documentation

• Ensure regular communication with all stakeholders
• Build partnerships with B.Ed. colleges as required
• Implement internship support program

• Create communities of practice
• Conduct technical teacher training sessions (in person, virtual)

Slectioen process involves:
• Filling the application form
• Shortlisted candidates will complete pre-work
• Timely submissions will ensure a technical interview (virtual)
• Shortlisted candidates will visit Jaipur for an interview with the founder
• Reference check; additional virtual interview with advisors as required
