About the role

As an Operational Services Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of efficient and accurate laboratory services. Working under general direction, you will apply your skills to accurately sort, accession and prepare specimens in line with established protocols. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will ensure the correct handling, storage and transport of specimens, contributing to the smooth functioning of laboratory operations.

In this role, you will also be the first point of contact for internal and external customer enquiries, providing professional, courteous and timely responses. Your ability to manage competing tasks, prioritise workloads and maintain accuracy in data entry will be critical to supporting the laboratory team in delivering high-quality diagnostic services to patients and healthcare providers.

You are a reliable and detail-oriented professional with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality support within a pathology laboratory environment. Your ability to manage competing tasks, work collaboratively and provide excellent customer service ensures you contribute effectively to the success of the team.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Proven experience in pathology laboratory operations, including data entry, specimen handling, and using information systems.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong focus on delivering high levels of customer service.

Proficient computer skills, with the ability to troubleshoot issues and escalate problems when required.
