Summary Of Position
The Operations Manager will oversee the operations division of the bank, through supervision, and coordination of activities of managers, supervisors and employees involved in performing internal operations of the bank.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
• Oversee overall operational management and control which entails monitoring and direct involvement in the operations of the business lines, participation in designing of policies and procedures and ensuring effectiveness thereof.
• Will oversee the following departments: IT, HR and BSA/Compliance along with all areas of operations including tellers, branch operations staff, bookkeeping staff and proof staff.
• Responsible for budget/expense management, reporting and forecasting for areas managed. Ensures proper communication to the senior management concerning compliance of company and regulatory policies affecting areas managed.
• Improve the operational systems, processes and policies in support of organizations mission, support management reporting, information flow and management, business process and organizational planning.
• Responsible for understanding and communicating the bank's strategic plan to service personnel in order for the service division to reach the desired goals.
• Participate in overall operational management, planning, systems and controls. Interacts with senior management on new projects that will enhance the banks customer service capabilities.
• Reviews and approve service agreements both internally and externally.
• Participates in major projects and analysis as requested by Senior Management.
• Ensures that operating procedures fully comply with approved Bank policies and procedures and any/all statutory or regulatory requirements.
• Develops, monitors, and updates the Department's internal control structure surrounding all operational functions.
• Develops and reviews the bank's insurance program to include Bankers Blanket Bond, D&O, Liability, Cybersecurity, Commercial Property and Automobile Insurance.
• Responsible for ensuring vendor management of all vendors associated with the operations areas
• Oversees the bank's Physical Security program as well as the bank's Information Security Program.
• Continually assesses, monitors, and makes recommendations regarding the performance of the department as well as managing/ensuring a strong relationship with internal clients.
• Provides leadership, direction and coordination of the goals and objectives of the Bank while embracing the Bank's mission statement.
• Continually assesses, monitors and makes recommendations regarding the operation risk of the department along with the Risk Department.
It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within their capabilities as determined by management.
Education And Experience Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in management, business administration, or related field required.
• At least five to ten years of strong operational experience in a financial institution.
• Strong interpersonal skills, enabling the individual to successfully work with a diverse group of people.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Possess personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment to the corporate mission.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Skilled in organizational development, personnel management, budget and resource development, and strategic planning.
• Ability to make sound decisions and to react promptly and calmly to unexpected situations.
• Flexibility and able to multitask; can work with an ambiguous, fast moving environment, while also driving toward clarity and solutions; demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding investment in people and systems.
• Effective coaching skills.
