Responsibilities
The Senior Oracle Database Administrator is responsible for being part of a team of Database Administrators remotely supporting multiple Oracle Installations on our client’s systems all over the world
This includes consistent responsiveness during any assigned On-Call periods
Lead clients on database projects and daily proactive management
Proactively ensure optimal availability and performance of the database systems
Troubleshoot and solve high level Oracle issues while working concurrently with multiple priorities
Be escalation point for lower level dba’s on team
Oversee improvement and maintenance plans for databases to include installations/upgrades/migrations/replication/HA
Develops and implements procedures for maintenance and alert responses
Resolves high level database performance issues, capacity needs, and security concerns
Develop replication and HA/DR configurations for client needs
Produce automated scripts and processes
Must deliver an exceptional customer experience every day

POSITION PURPOSE:

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Lead clients on database projects and daily proactive management
• Proactively ensure optimal availability and performance of the database systems.

Requirements

DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum of 5 to 8 years of related experience.
• Process-oriented engineer with strong execution and follow through skills.
• Experience supporting current version releases of Oracle in a production environment
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent SQL and PL/SQL scripting
• Strong OS scripting for automation and jobs
• Team player with ability to multitask with minimal supervision and high reliability.
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
• Strong experience with database backup and recovery
• Strong experience with the standalone Oracle installation and upgrade process.
• Strong experience with installation of ODG, RAC, ASM and Grid Control.
• Knowledge or Experience with MySQL and/or Postgres
• Passion for learning and applying evolving technologies
• Strong customer focus; ability to focus on the client's requirements and exceed expectations
• Experience with Windows and Linux OS commands as they relate to high level database needs
• Experience with Networks as they relate to Database needs

Education:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or equivalent work experience.
