Key Roles and Responsibilities: Database monitoring and MaintenanceMonitors database infrastructureProactively monitors the work queues.Perform operational tasks to resolve all incidents/requests in a timely manner and within the agreed SLA.Perform Proactive Performance Monitoring and provide applicable suggestionsUpdate tickets with resolution tasks performedIdentify, Investigate, analyze issues and errors prior to or when they occur, and log all such incidents in a timely manner. Capture all required and relevant information for immediate resolutionProvide Level 1 support to all incidents, requests and escalate to L2 support in case of problemsCommunicate with other teams and clients for extending supportExecute changes with clear identification of risks and mitigation plans to be captured into the change recordFollow the shift handover process highlighting any key tickets to be focussed on along with a handover of upcoming critical tasks to be carried out in the next shiftEscalate all tickets to seek the right focus from CoE and other teams, if needed continue the escalations to managementWork with automation teams for effort optimization and automating routine tasksEstablish monitoring for client databasesIdentify problems and errors before they impact a client’s serviceContribute to the change management process by logging all change requests with complete details for standard and non-standard including patching and any other changes to Configuration Items. Ensures all changes are carried out with proper change approvalsPlan and execute approved maintenance activitiesAudit and analyze incident and request tickets for quality and recommends improvements with updates to knowledge articles.Produce trend analysis reports for identifying tasks for automation, leading to a reduction in tickets and optimization of effortKnowledge, Skills and Attributes:Required to have knowledge of Database Administration in OracleMust have been an Oracle Database Administrator for at least 6 months to 1 yearKnowledge of handling SQL Server / MySQL / Postgresql / MongoDB / Redis / Cassandra / Other databases would be advantageousSignificant advantage for candidates with relevant or advanced knowledgeKnowledge in Cloud Environment, Microservices architecture would be advantageousKnowledge of DevOps and CI/CD pipelines would be preferredAbility to communicate and work across different cultures and social groupsAbility to maintain a positive outlook at workAbility to work well in a pressurised environmentAbility to work hard and put in longer hours when it is necessaryAbility to apply active listening techniques such as paraphrasing the message to confirm understanding, probing for further relevant information and refraining from interruptingAbility to adapt to changing circumstancesAbility to place client at the forefront of all interactions, understanding their requirements and creating a positive client experience throughout the total client journeyAcademic QualificationsDiploma, degree or relevant qualification in IT/Computing (or demonstrated equivalent work experience)Advantageous certifications:Oracle Database Administrator Associate/ProfessionalMySQL Database Administrator Associate/ProfessionalPostgreSQL / EDB AdministrationMongoDB / Redis / Cassandra / Other related Database CertificationUp to date and relevant ITIL certificationAdditional certificationsCloud Trainings and CertificationsRelevant Software Trainings and CertificationsRequired Experience:Minimum 6 months of experience in handling Oracle Database TechnologiesMust have worked with Maintenance and Monitoring of Oracle DatabasesGood to have experience in Installation, Implementation, Disaster Recovery Setup, Monitoring Tools Setup, Backup/Recovery, Migration and High Availability Configuration SetupModerate managed services experienceModerate level knowledge in ticketing toolsWhat will make you a good fit for the role?Standard career level descriptor for job level:•Develops professional experience•Applies policy and procedures to solve variety of issues•Problems are moderate in nature•Build productive internal and external working relationships•Receives general instructions on routine work•Receives detailed instructions on new work•Typically needs a Bachelor’s or equivalent and entry or basic level experience; or an advanced or equivalent degree without experience; or equivalent work experience
