Overhead Door Technician

Currently, we are pursuing an Overhead Door Technician to join our team at our Fort McMurray location. As the Overhead Door Technician, you will be expected to troubleshoot, repair and maintain all Overhead Doors. The role is accountable for mechanical repair work and resolves specific causes of problems.
The normal shift schedule consists of 14 consecutive days of work followed by 14 days off. Accommodation provided in Fort McMurray for 14 days of shift.
Main Job Responsibilities:
Read blueprints or work order specifications to determine layout and installation procedures
Install & service of overhead doors and operators
Submit daily accurate, detailed reports and complete tasks on time
Effectively manage time and resources to complete the required jobs efficiently
Maintains knowledge of all operations and parts manuals associated with all products/equipment
Executes all work in accordance with Provincial, local regulations, general best practices as well as company health and safety policies and procedures.
Acts as “our customer’s best service provider” at all times thereby ensuring Convergint is the customer’s first choice for service.
Communicates with and works with the other team members consistently to improve overall operations of the Convergint Technology Center, and company.
Key Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Journeyman Millwright ticket
5 years commercial service & installation of doors
Experience with power tools is required
Essential to be comfortable working at heights (ladders, scaffolds and lifts)
Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
Must possess strong customer skills and work ethic: Honest and dedicated to customer satisfaction, reliable, dependable and professional
Valid drivers license with clean abstract is essential
Must be legally eligible to work for any employer in Canada (for example, by way of Canadian citizenship, permanent residency, or work permit)
