Full job description
Perspective Financial Group are looking for a Paralegal to join its dynamic legal team to provide transactional support to the group’s M&A activity.
With a primary focus on M&A, this in-house Paralegal role will see you work closely with and support the group’s General Counsel and Legal Counsel across all aspects of a typical M&A transaction, often with several transactions running simultaneously. The role will also include additional support on more general day-to-day in-house legal workstreams such as employment, property, commercial contracts, litigation, and company secretarial.

Location: Chorley (Hybrid)
Hours: Monday – Friday 9am to 5pm with a one-hour break (35 hours)
Salary: Competitive dependant on experience and qualifications. Available upon request.

Job Requirements
Previous paralegal or equivalent work experience desirable but not strictly necessary if the successful candidate is proactive and eager to engage with the legal team and the wider group M&A team to ensure the group is well supported and work is delivered to the highest standard.
Legal qualification (Law degree, LPC or equivalent).
Proven competence in IT skills (Outlook, Word, Excel and other systems experience).
Self-motivated, ambitious team player with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment as well as a commercial mindset with an ability to explain matters clearly and simply to non-legal stakeholders.
Have good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Excellent attention to detail and organisation skills are essential.
You must be able to work confidently and effectively both internally and externally with good project management skills.
You will need to demonstrate the ability to respond to new challenges and absorb new skills.
Job Responsibilities
Providing transactional support to the group’s M&A activity throughout the lifecycle of an M&A transaction, including managing and liaising with external lawyers and other advisors.
Drafting and reviewing simple legal documents (including ancillary transaction documents), reports and correspondence.
Maintaining, monitoring and updating various systems and documents within the group’s M&A portfolio, including transaction information, data and file notes.
Assessing and understanding internal stakeholder queries and file notes to identify actions and advice required by the legal team in relation to accurate interpretation of contracts and other legal documents in relation to the group’s M&A activity, commercial, HR functions and real estate matters, including where applicable one-off legal and technical queries.
Supporting the legal team in ensuring that all the group’s company secretarial matters are kept up-to-date.
