Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Part-Time Early Childhood Educator Assistant (ECEA) to support our team and help create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children. This role is ideal for someone passionate about early childhood education, eager to contribute to a collaborative, innovative setting, and excited to get hands-on with creative activities.
Responsibilities:
Assist in implementing our Reggio-inspired, cumulative, project-based curriculum that follows children’s curiosity.
Support children’s language, reading, and early writing skills through play-based and hands-on learning experiences.
Support daily routines, including meal times, nap/rest periods, and transitions.
Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children at all times.
Engage children in creative play, exploration, and learning activities, embracing a hands-on approach and not afraid to get messy.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment.
Observe, document, and report on children’s progress and development.
Communicate positively with families and staff.
Assist with other duties typical for early childhood educators as needed (e.g., preparing materials, supervising outdoor play, supporting social and emotional development).
Qualifications:
ECEA certification or equivalent early childhood education experience.
Passion for working with young children and fostering their growth.
Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
Commitment to maintaining a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment.
Interest in Reggio-inspired approaches and supporting children’s language, reading, and writing development.
Reliable vehicle required for commuting to the daycare.
Hours: 16 hours per week (flexible schedule), with potential to increase in the future.
