Job Duties

Science isn’t our only priority here at the Science Museum of Virginia, we also make memories. Our Special Events department hosts everything from Weddings, to Galas and corporate functions. Our Education department creates memorable content for themed nights and weekends of fun for the whole family. The security team at the Science Museum gets to take part in all of it by engaging with our guests and clients, while ensuring their safety and the safety of our campus. We are looking for evening and weekend availability to provide a friendly and safe environment so that everyone who walks through our doors can make everlasting memories.

This is an essential position. The Science Museum provides 24/7 security, so this position will include working nights, weekends and holidays. Training will be provided.

This is a part-time position limited to 1500 hours per year, or 2+ hours a week on average. No state benefits are provided. Museum membership included.
